Edu marked his return to the K-League with two goals as Jeonbuk carried on where they left off last season. The former Suwon and Schalke player scored from the penalty spot after 38 minutes before sealing the win with his second ten minutes from time. Up next for Jeonbuk is a visit to Seoul who once again started the season with a defeat, this time to Ulsan. Goals from Yang dong hyun and a debut goal from Uzbekistan international Server Djeparov gave Ulsan a two-nil victory. Gwangju’s return to the K-league looked like it would start in defeat when Jeong Jun Yeon scored an own goal in the ninetieth minute, but a last gasp equaliser meant that they came away from Incheon with a point. Last season’s runners-up Suwon lost one-nil at home to Pohang in a game that saw both sides reduced to ten men. Elsewhere Busan beat newly promoted Daejeon one-nil and Jeonnam drew one-all at home to Jeju.
