Jeonbuk Motors all but wrapped up their third consecutive K-League title with a three-one win against second-placed FC Seoul. A lucky deflection gave Jeonbuk an early lead, and although Seoul had all the possession, they couldn’t break down the meanest defense in the league. Leonardo showed why he was the highest paid player in the league last year as he scored two exquisite goals on the counter-attack to put the game beyond Seoul. Adriano’s last-minute penalty was little consolation to Seoul who are now thirteen points behind thee league leaders.
At the other end of the table, Bruce Djite scored twice for Suwon FC as they beat Incheon United two-nil. The win means that Suwon move off the bottom of the table, with Incheon replacing them in twelfth place. Above them, Suwon Bluewings recorded a third consecutive one-all draw, this time against high-flying Sangju Sangmu. Jeonnam moved level on points with Pohang after a late comeback. Pohang took the lead through Sim Dong-woon, but late goals from Heo Yong-jon and Jair gave Jeonnam a victory that moves them safely into mid-table. Jeju United also benefited from a late goal as Ahn Hyun-beom scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute to give them all three points against Seongnam. A late equalizer by Gwangju meant that they drew one-all with Ulsan in the weekend’s other game.
