Pohang’s great run of form continued as they followed up last week’s win over Jeonbuk with a two-one win against Jeju United. Kim Tae-Su gave Pohang an early lead before Seo Dong-Hyun equalised for Jeju. Son Jun-Ho’s goal midway through the first half gave Pohang all three points, with the result being their sixth win in a row and their thirteenth game without a defeat. This weekend was certainly not one for the neutral with Gwangju against Incheon, Seongnam against Suwon, and Seoul against Jeonbuk all yielding goalless draws. Suwon’s result in particular was a big disappointment for them, putting an end to their title pretentions. Seo Myeong-Won gave Daejeon an outside chance of avoiding relegation, the young striker scored twice as the bottom club beat Busan by two goals to one. The game of the weekend took place in Gwangyang where Jeonnam Dragons continued their appalling recent form with a five-two defeat to Ulsan. Kovacec scored a hat-trick for Ulsan in that match with Kim Shin-Wook also getting his fifteenth goal of the season. Daegu gave themselves a massive chance of gaining automation promotion from the K-League Challenge with a two-nil win over promotion challengers Suwon City. Seoul Eland all but confirmed their place in the play-offs and gave themselves a slim chance of automatic promotion with a one-nil win over Bucheon.
