Ulsan beat Gwangju two-nil to remain top of the table. The K-league newcomers’ unbeaten start to the season came to an end as they were undone by an early own goal. Ulsan’s star striker Kim Shin Wook added a second goal early in the second half to finish off Gwangju. Edu continued his good start to his second spell in the K-league, netting his fourth goal of the season in the 72nd minute to decide Jeonbuk’s encounter with Pohang. The win against Pohang leaves Jeonbuk level on points with Ulsan at the top of the table. At the other end of the table, FC Seoul picked up their first points of the season with a late winner by Santos giving them all three points against Jeju. Park Chu Young marked his return to the K-league with a brief cameo in stoppage time in that game. Meanwhile, Daejeon’s hopeless start to the season continues, they lost by four goals to one at home to Seongnam with Kim Do-Hyeon bagging a hat-trick in that game. Elsewhere, Chunnam beat Incheon one-nil and Suwon beat Busan two-one. In the K-League Challenge, Sangju maintained their one-hundred percent record, beating Gyeongnam three-one to go joint top with a game in hand over their rivals. Seoul Eland are still looking for a first win after conceding a last minute equaliser at home to Daegu. Gangwon won emphatically at home to Bucheon with Choi Seung In and Belusso both getting two goals in their 4-0 victory. The FA Cup second round also took place this weekend with amateur team Nexen FC managing to make the third round draw with a 2-1 win in their cup game.
